Get Active@Home!

elderly couple practising physical exerciseGetting and staying active, especially in the middle the COVID-19 pandemic, has been difficult for many. We really pleased to be able to continue with our popular ACTIVE@HOME program to Adssi In-home Support clients. As with all our services we have increased hygiene protocols and social distancing measures in place to keep everyone safe.

Active@Home is an in-home program run by a trained coach. Participants need GP sign-off before starting the program. There are 8 exercises performed on the program and assessment provided by the coach.
The exercises are aimed at improving strength and balance. The balance exercises can help you to feel more stable and confident on your feet and the strength exercises help improve independence in daily activities like bending or lifting.
If you'd like to know more, please contact our ACTIVE@HOME coordinator Korinn by email korinn.houghton@adssi.com.au or mobile 0423 576 705.

Worried about falling?

Come along to the FREE Stepping On falls prevention program
STEPPING ON RGB

Stepping On is an exciting initiative of the NSW Department of Health, presented by Adssi In-home Support.

This free program is designed for older people who are living independently in the community at home and who have fallen or are fearful of falling.

Participation in Stepping On gives older people the confidence to undertake their everyday activities more safely and independently, to reduce their risk of falling.

Coordinator Fay Huckstepp said participants will learn exercises to improve strength and balance and practical ways to reduce the risk of falling.

“The program is run over 7 weeks so it’s also a great way to meet a new group of people”, she explained.
